WHY B+W FILTERS AND NOT OTHER BRANDS ?
*Note: Filter is not going to save the lens from a significant impact
PURPOSE OF THE FILTERS
UV Haze Filter (UV 010):
-Blocks UV radiation that cause blur or (in colour shots) blueness
-Pictures will become more brilliant, irritating blue haze is avoided and color reproduction remains neutral
- suitable for front lens protection
UV Filter (UV/IR 486):
- blocks more infrared and prevents blur and colour cast with IR-sensitive CCDs
Clear Glass Protective Filter Clear 007
(B+W 007 XS-Pro )
- Performs similarly to Nikon NC
- Better Quality than NC
- Slimmer
B+W Kasemann Polarizing Filters
(B+W KSM CPL)
- Reduce reflections in cases of oblique light incident on electrically non-conductive surfaces (e.g. glass, plastics, varnish)
- increase colour saturation
-has protection against environmental effects (weather - sealed)
Neutral Density Filters
(B+W 502, 52E: Graduated ND 0.6-4X)
-Permit wide aperture even when it is very bright for low depth of field and an interplay of sharpness and blur and/ or long exposure times for motion blur or wiping effects
CAUTION:
Neutral Density Filter must not be used for direct visual observation of the sun
(can cause severe burn to the retina up to total blindness!)
(B+W 106 )
-Basic functions as those Neutral Density Filters
-Require the use of tripod (without changing the f-stop, shutter speed of 1/60 is changed a full second)
-Effects: flowing water is rendered as flowing in the photo, people moving in streets are dissolved in unsharpness or become invisible
- filter brings a slightly warm tone to color photographs ( if the effect is undesirable, a B+W UV/IR Blocking Filter 468 in front of the neutral density filter remedies the situation)
Infrared Filters
(B+W IR 093)
-Infrared filters transmit IR radiation, but block visible light either completely or largely
- B+W IR 093 allows pure IR photos in scientific or technical applications (e.g. material research, forensic investigation, criminology)
1.Very Good Multi coated Coating(MRC) on the filter glass.
- prevents light from being reflected off the surface of the filter
2.Does not flare easily as compared to other brands.
3.Very easy to clean unlike Hoya filters
4.The filter ring is made of BRASS, so does not seize easily, and feels solid.
5.Made Of High Quality German Schott Glass
6.MADE IN GERMANY by World Renowned Lens Maker,SCHNEIDER OPTICS
7. More comfortable to clean a $100 filter than an expensive lens (which may cost you more than four times the price of the fiters)
